Zambia Unite 4 Change

We believe that every Zambian should have access to good education, work at a good job with good livable wages, able to raise their family in safe environments, and retire with dignity. Good quality education and access to health care is a basic right.

1.    Open, honest and accountable government
We will Change the culture of corruption in the country for good! The goal is to bring a new level of accountability, honesty and openness to all levels of government. New rules will be enacted and enforced with the highest and strictest ethics to be followed by every public servant.
 
2.    Access to affordable health care for all Zambians
Good health is a foundation for a country to move out of the dark ages into prosperity.  Ensuring quality, affordable health care for all Zambians will be essential to move the country in a new direction. Healthy kids will learn better at school; healthy workers are more productivity at work and we will strive to ensure that government puts the highest priority on delivery affordable quality health care for all Zambians.

3.    Access to affordable education (science and technology) for all Zambians
In this new age, economic growth will be sustained only by having an educated and experienced workforce. We will lobby government to improve the curriculum and make it more relevant, open up new schools where they are needed, mandate that all kids go to school up to 12th grade (criminal offense for a guardian or parent to hinder a child’s education up to 12th grade). Scholarships and grants will be made available for further education, especially in the fields of science and technology.
 
4.    Poverty reduction across the nation
Poverty will be fought with all the power to ensure that its controlled and eliminated. Zambia has the means to take care of its citizens but priorities have been misplaced. This movement will bring into office people that will guard against excesses and misuse of public funds and let the funds be used for poverty reduction. Centers will be opened across the nation to provide training and skills to the people and create an environment where people can exchange goods and services in communities. Hammer mills, tailoring, and farming, will be encouraged in these centers. Ready markets will be accessed with the help of the government for the goods produced.

5.    Job creation in all corners of the land
Jobs will be created in all corners of the country through new economic activities that will follow once the new system takes effect. Once the economy is diversified, new opportunities will open up in agriculture, tourism, energy sector, etc and more and more qualified Zambians will be hired to fill the new positions that will be created.

6.    Economic stewardship to ensure strong and sustained growth
We will encourage investment at all levels. We will lobby government to enact laws that favor entrepreneurship, thinking out side the box, taking calculated risks with an eye on protecting the general population from being taken advantage of by unscrupulous investor.
 
7.    Expand energy production and distribution to cover the entire nation
To expand and grow the economy in the way we envision, we will need the energy sector to be streamlined, efficient and ready at all times. We will develop new energy solutions and improve the existing ones.  Hydro, oil, solar will all be utilized as we expand our energy offering in Zambia. New jobs will be created from the new energy sector expansions that we plan to advocate for. All corners of Zambia should be powered by the year 2015.
8.    Secure retirement for senior citizens
If you worked in Zambia in your more productive years, you should retire with honor and dignity. We will ensure that all senior citizens are taken care of by starting a savings plan that they will contribute to that will pay out monthly to them in their retirement. This system will be efficient, streamlined and reliable.
